Abstract:

Dear colleagues,

It has been a pleasure working with you all in 2013. I wish to express my gratitude particularly to our authors for their valuable contributions to IJBM. I take this opportunity to offer my special thanks to all the Members of the Editorial Board and Reviewers as well, for their most valued contributions to the smooth and effective running of the journal, their high standard of editing and peer reviewing.

For IJBM, 2013 was a good and productive year. First, IJBM has confirmed its reputation as a high-quality scientific publication. In 2013, we published 58 articles, covering a wide range of topics. In 2013, IJBM implemented an open access policy to make the articles freely available online, immediately upon publication. IJBM’s open access policy allows for maximum visibility of articles published in the journal, as they are made available to a wide, global audience. We promote all the published articles and content through free email alerts. We have increased journal visibility by posting updates on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. We have also redesigned our website making it even more convenient for our Readers and Authors. We have been  persistent in our efforts to increase IJBM’s ranking. Our Journal is currently indexed in several top scientific databases, such as Ulrich's Periodicals Directory, Google Scholar, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Academic Journals Database, BASE, OAJSE, eLIBRARY.RU, Index Copernicus. We are currently in the process of indexing IJBM with PubMed Central, Current Contents, Science Citation Index, and EBSCO, as well.

We aim to continue improving our journal’s reputation and ranking in the coming year, in order to widen its appeal to scientific communities across the world. Of course, much remains to be done to make our journal brighter, smarter, more informative and better for you. It is my hope that 2014 will be even more interesting and successful for IJBM. We are keenly interested in analyzing your feedback, comments and suggestions. The quality of this journal depends much upon the excellence of the articles submitted. We look for 'the best' in original research devoted to understanding various disease mechanisms. We welcome original reports on important disease-related experimental models and major technical advances of broad impact to research into disease pathogenesis. We welcome suggestions for critical reviews or reports. Together with you, we will continue our efforts to make this Journal a high-quality forum for sharing research experiences.

We sincerely wish you success in the new endeavors you undertake and the discoveries you make. One of the greatest joys of this season is the opportunity to say THANK YOU and wish you the very best for the New Year. We are happy to have this opportunity to serve you and look forward to the year ahead. Happy New Year!
